The Pilanesberg Game Reserve, at 572 km², is the 4th largest park in
South Africa. It is located about 40Km north of
Pilanesberg lies in the WWF AT0717 Southern Africa bushveld ecoregion, which is in the transition zone between the northern Mopane savanna and the Mixed savanna of the sourthern and western areas.
Big 5, lions, elephants, white and black rhinos, buffaloes, leopards, zebras, hyenas, giraffes, hippos and crocodiles.
360+ species
A series of three concentric hills are relics of an ancient volcano of about 1'200million years ago, and known as the Pilanesberg National Park Alkaline Ring Complex. This was one of the largest known volcanos on earth. Several rare minerals are found here.
