Attractions

Mkuze / Mkuzi / Mhuze is a small settelement just off the N2 between Pongola and Hluhluwe and Mtubatuba on the railway line next to the Mhuze River. Jozini is to the north next to the Pongolapoort Dam.

The area is known as the Elephant Coast of Maputaland. The Lebombo mountains are to the northeast. The Makatini Flats are north of Mkuze.

The settlement is situated on wide plains of acacia savannah with a tropical climate.

Mkuzi / Mkuze / Mkhuze Game Reserve

The Mkuzi / Mkuze / Mkhuze Game Reserve is east of the Mkuze village. One of its highlights is the 450 bird species that can be seen here.

iSimangaliso (St Lucia) Wetlands Park

The iSimangaliso (St Lucia) Wetlands Park is to the east of Mkuze on the Indian Ocean. This world Heritage site stretches fro about 200Km along the coast of northern Kawazulu-Natal to the border with Mocambique.

Pongolapoort Nature Reserve

The Pongolapoort Nature Reserve is north of Mkuze, just off the N2 on the way to Pongola.
