Several waterfalls are in the area: Horseshoe, Bridal Veil, Lone Creek, Mac Mac. Trout fishing is offered in the many streams and rivers in the area.

History


The area was farmed in the 1800s until 1895 when gold was found. The town developed as a mining town and became a village in 1915. Mining demanded timber and when the natural tree population was destoyed, plantations of trees were planted.
