Oviston Nature Reserve

the Oviston Nature Reserve (16'000Ha) is south of Gariep Nature Reserve on the Gariep River at Oviston in the Eastern Cape.

 

Climate

Summer: very hot during the day, while night temperatures may drop substantially. Rain falls between October and March, peaking in February and March.

Winter: Frost is common in winter, and between June and August it can be quite chilly.

This is a semi-arid area and can be quite dusty.
