Salmons Dam Nature Reserve

The Salmons Dam Nature Reserve (834Ha) was established in 1962 and is 20Km east of Stanford in the Perdeberg mountains. The Paardenberg River runs through the reserve, and flows into the Uilenkraals River.

The reserve has 120 bird species in mountain fynbos with waterfalls. Some birds are black eagle, Cape rockjumper, sunbirds and kingfishers.

There are hiking trails in the reserve.
