History
Worcester was founded in 1820 on the farms Roodedraai and Langerug,
owned by Du Toit brothers. It became a municipality in 1842.
Historical buildings: in Church Street there are several buildings dating
from 1840 to 1855. The old Drosdty built to the specifications of Lord Charles
Somerset. Beck House, owned by Cornelius Beck and built in 1841 by DF Languerenne
